What Exactly Does An Audio-Visual System For Homes Comprise?

A home AV system is a display, sound, sources, and the cabling that ties them together. The TV or projector is only one piece.
Display
TV or projector, sized to the room and seating distance. Resolution and HDR matter. So does whether the room can go dark. A huge screen in a bright lounge is a washed-out screen.
Audio
Speakers plus a sub. 5.1 is the usual cinema start — fronts, center, surrounds, sub. 7.1 adds side surrounds in a longer room. The center channel carries dialogue. Skip it and voices sit in the picture instead of in front of you.
Sources
Streaming devices, consoles, a disc player if you still use discs. A receiver or processor switches them so you're not crawling behind the rack.
Cables and power
HDMI, speaker cable, and power need a planned route. Hidden runs keep the room usable. A surge protector or UPS protects the rack — Karachi power is not gentle. DIY installs skip this and replace gear later.
Spec the system as a whole. A strong display with weak speakers, or the reverse, is how rooms disappoint.
